Info on COVID-19 for Business Travelers

Updated on May 29 2020
Several countries are currently talking about reopening their borders, and the Danish authorities have sent out new guidelines for business trips. At Europæiske ERV you are fully covered on business trips within and between the Nordic Region, the EU, Great Britain, Switzerland and Liechtenstein. This also applies to COVID-19.

How does my travel insurance cover me on business trips within or between countries, which MOFA has classified as green/yellow?

If the MOFA travel advice for a country changes to green or yellow, your business travel insurance fully cover you against your insurance policy and insurance terms. This also applies to COVID-19.

How does my travel insurance cover me if I go on a business trip to a country, for which the MOFA advises against all travel? (Red)

Your business travel insurance cover you as usual, except for claims caused by or related to COVID-19 or claims that were foreseeable prior to your departure.

According to the General Terms, section CC in our insurance terms, the insurance does not cover costs, which are caused by or have arisen as a direct or indirect consequence of damages that were to be anticipated prior to departure. As COVID-19 is currently considered a worldwide pandemic, which is not equally well controlled or handled in each country, the insurance does not cover any costs related to COVID-19. This includes (but is not limited to) illness and injury, repatriation, evacuation, entry restrictions, delayed baggage or delayed or cancelled flights.

Please note that we have particular terms for traveling to warzones.

Please make sure to contact us at erhverv@erv.dk for counselling on how your business travel insurance cover you before conducting any business trips to countries, to which the MOFA advises against all travel or which are categorized as warzones.
